Since the start of the COVID pandemic, I have been conducting all of my sessions online. I most commonly use Zoom video, but have also used FaceTime and Google Meet. I have recently made the decision to close my office and do all of my sessions from my home office using these online systems.
Most people I work with have expressed reluctance to meet remotely. They feel it is less personal and perhaps not as effective as face to face sessions. I can understand these concerns and actually shared these thoughts as well. However, now that I have been using video sessions for almost three years, I find these sessions to be very effective. They also offer some distinct advantages. They are convenient and assuming you are in a private space, very confidential. Medicare and other insurance providers have made it a policy to reimburse for video/remote sessions at the same rate as face to face sessions.
Most sessions last about 50-55 minutes. Towards the end of our first session I will gather some information about you and your insurance if you have it. We will talk about payments and arrange for a plan for your situation. I am able to accept most credit cards, checks, Venmo, or cash if payment is needed. Many insurance companies may cover a large portion of the fee. If you have Medicare and a secondary plan, your insurance should cover all my fee.
I am always open to questions about anything about my practice, the finances, my approach to treatment, or anything that is a concern for you. Please do not hesitate to express any questions or concerns that you might have.
